Adviser Khalid Emphasizes Importance of Public Service, Promises Government Medical Centre in Babunagar
Satkania, February 24, 2025 — Religious Affairs Adviser to the interim government, Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain, highlighted the significance of serving the public, describing it as a noble duty. His remarks came during the inauguration of a free medical camp held at Babunagar High School ground, organized by the Noore Habib Welfare Foundation.
“Health is the foundation of happiness, and maintaining good health is crucial for leading a fulfilling life,” Dr. Khalid stated. He further assured the local community of plans to establish a government-run medical center in Babunagar to ensure accessible healthcare services for residents.
The event was chaired by Associate Professor Saeed Ahsan Khalid from the Law Department of Chittagong University, who also serves as the Chairman of the Noore Habib Welfare Foundation. Health Secretary Md Saidur Rahman attended as a special guest, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and disciplined living for maintaining good health.
Highlighting the scale of the initiative, the medical camp saw the participation of 85 doctors, including 48 specialized physicians, who provided free treatment and medicines to nearly 2,500 local residents.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Aung Swi Prue Marma, Director of Health for Chittagong Division, Chittagong Civil Surgeon Md Jahangir Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Milton Biswas, and Nayeem Ahsan Talha, Secretary General of the Noore Habib Welfare Foundation.
The commitment to setting up a government medical center in Babunagar is expected to greatly benefit the local community by ensuring sustainable and accessible healthcare services.
