KNDF’s Gender Equality Department Honors Women Fighters on International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Gender Equality Department of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) sent a message of honor and appreciation to the women fighters of KNDF, recognizing their contributions to the revolution and their role in fighting for equality and justice.
The statement acknowledged the dedication of women soldiers serving in various sectors of KNDF, highlighting their commitment, bravery, and sacrifices in the struggle for freedom. It also emphasized that throughout Karenni’s revolutionary history, not only women fighters but also the mothers, wives, and female family members of all revolutionaries have played a crucial role in supporting and sustaining the resistance.
The department reiterated that KNDF’s core principles of national equality and federal democracy cannot be achieved without gender equality. Therefore, it reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating all forms of discrimination and oppression, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women in the resistance movement and beyond.
As part of KNDF’s vision for a more inclusive and democratic society, the Gender Equality Department vowed to continue working towards transforming the resistance forces into an army that fully respects and upholds gender equality.
