Rohingyas Want to Return to Myanmar as Food Aid is Reduced

Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh are expressing a desire to return to Myanmar as their monthly food assistance has been reduced by more than half. Previously, $12.50 per person was allocated, but from next month, this will be reduced to $6.

Many refugees are buying extra food in anticipation of the shortage. Some have even stated that they might return to Myanmar due to the difficulties caused by the reduction in aid.

The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is visiting the camps in Cox's Bazar, but there are questions about how effective his visit will be in resolving the Rohingya crisis.

According to the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner, this visit will help Rohingyas regain confidence and feel supported by the international community, encouraging them to consider returning to their homeland.
