Six Arrested in Siddhirganj, Including Five Rohingya Rebels

Law enforcement authorities have arrested six individuals, including five members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), from the Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj. During the raid, police recovered Tk 2.139 lakh in cash from the suspects.
A case has been filed at Siddhirganj Police Station regarding the incident.
Identities of the Arrested Individuals
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Ataullah (48) – Son of the late Maulvi Ghulam Sharif, from Arakan State, Myanmar.
2. Mostaq Ahmed (66) – Son of the late Lal Mia, from Arakan State, Myanmar.
3. Moniruzzaman (24) – Son of Atiqul Islam, from Ishwarganj, Mymensingh District, Bangladesh.
4. Salimullah (27) – Son of the late Abdul Amin, from Arakan State, Myanmar.
5. Asmaul Hosna (23) – Wife of Salimullah.
6. Hasan (15) – Son of Nur Alam, from Arakan State, Myanmar.
Details of the Operation
On the morning of March 17, an intelligence-led operation by RAB-11 resulted in their arrest from a house in Siddhirganj. Acting on a tip-off, RAB conducted a raid and later handed over the suspects to Siddhirganj Police Station.
According to the police case report, the arrested individuals were allegedly involved in subversive activities in various locations, including Narayanganj and Mymensingh. Authorities received information that they were conducting secret meetings to plan further activities.
Legal Proceedings
Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahinur Alam confirmed that a case has been filed against the six individuals, including Rohingya citizens. The accused have been sent to court for further legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Qayyum Khan stated that the suspects have been presented before the court.
